Tom and Renee’s Annual Caroling Cruise, Sunday, December 18, 2016

Author: ufor360  //  Category: Club Rides, General

When: Sunday, December 18, 2016. Meet at 10:00 poot at 11:00 AM

Where: Alfred’s Café, 402 Puyallup Ave, Tacoma, Washington 98421

Per Tom:

“Hey Firkins!
Now that I have recovered from the green gummy bears it’s time to send details of the 3rd Annual “Firkin Caroling Cruise”.

– Sunday, Dec 18th
– Alfred’s at 10:00 for drinks…I mean breakfast.
– Depart for ride at 11:00
– First stop is BMW Mini
– Last stop is Parkway
– More details on itinerary coming

If Sunday brings snow or ice we will still Carol but will do so by car, perhaps with dirt bike escort if any intrepid Firkins feel so inclined (in Minnesota they would drive roofing nails through old tires – from the inside – and race on ice tracks).

I have a van that can carry 5 plus Renee and I. If anyone has a high occupancy vehicle please let me know. If we must carol by car it would be best to stay in a group with as few cars as possible.

Lastly, for now, whoever has the Firkin banner please be sure to bring it. And don’t forget your Firkin Santa hats. More are available if needed.

See you Sunday!

PS: Renee wants… no needs…another gummy bear..! “

Monthly Club Meeting and Yard Sale, Sunday, September 4, 2016

Author: ufor360  //  Category: General, Meetings

When: Sunday, September 4, 2016, 3:00 PM
Where: Jeff and Tessa’s (Call your favorite Firkin for the address)

The meeting will be held at Jeff and Tessa’s humble abode in succession with a Firkin yard sale. This is your chance to load up on the inventory of Firkin schwag as well as an opportunity to unload any items you have that may prove useful to another Firkin member. Please note: all items brought must also be taken away. Our 750 square foot house has no room for additional inventory. Therefore, driving four wheels instead of two may be to your advantage.

The BBQ will start at 3 pm and food and beer will be provided. Please bring a chair if you have one available. The meeting will start at 5pm as usual.

We will also be voting on the location and theme for the 2017 TTF, starting preparations for next year’s 420 (Fireball) Run and before you know it, it will be Christmas. There are still rides on Deck for September and October and maybe an additional run to the Oyster Fest in Shelton the first weekend of October. As always, new potential members are always welcome. Just remember, leave the drama in the dwindling days of Summer.

Fireball 420 Run, Wednesday, April 20, 2016

Author: ufor360  //  Category: Club Rides, Puget Sound Events and Rides

When: Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Breakfast at 9:00 AM, Poot Sharp at 10:15 AM

Meet at: Ben Dews Clubhouse and Grill, 6501 6th Ave, Tacoma, Washington 98406

This is probably the only ride in the PAC Northwest that is held on a Weekday which this year is Wednesday, April 20th (duh!) We have been informed that the theme will be ‘Sex, Drugs and Rock n’ Roll’ and once again will be sponsored solely by FIREBALL… As always, the details are shrouded in enigma that not even other Firkins have been privileged too. However, the organizers have assured us that it will be riddled with competition, riding and challenges. Breakfast will commence at 9:00 AM at Ben Dews Club House and Grill at which time the teams will be picked and the details divulged before being ejected out onto the streets at 10:15 AM Sharp so be prepared and ready to ride; Lethargy may reflect badly on your team. Make sure your belly is full as the break for lunch isn’t until 2:00 PM.

After lunch, frivolity will continue for the remainder of the afternoon and we do expect to be greeted by the Fireball Angels at an undisclosed location at the end of the day.

This is a public event open to all Scooterists….Don’t by shy, invite yer friends..

Monthly Club Ride: Skystone, 3/13/2016…

Author: ufor360  //  Category: Club Rides

WHEN: Sunday, March 13, 2016: 10:00 AM Poot at 11:00 AM

MEET AT: Alfred’s Café 402 Puyallup Ave. T-Town 98421

Bring your druids, warlocks and time travelers… The March ride might be quite enlightening… Per Jeff M.

“After breakfast, on to fife for a short gas stop at the ethanol free gas pumps. (This station has two active ethanol free pumps, coffee and a Sana-can). Then up across Edgewood, and down into summer, where we will skirt the north side of down town to meet up with Sumner Tapps Hwy E, then connecting with Riverside Dr E which turns into McCutcheon Rd E then up the hill at Rhodes Lake Rd E to the Sky Stone destination in Bonney Lake. (No formal services at this location) After a visit with the Stone, it’s on to the Irish pub downtown Puyallup.

Next Phase “Wilds of Puyallup” is a short blast around the city of Puyallup, with a stop at Wild Wood Park. Ride concluding at our house, patio and garage for more refreshments and food – BBQ Ribs and some sides. Note: Somewhere in there, to mix in Firkin Lambretta riding antics.

Ride time from 11:00 – 2:30, Roughly 45 total Miles, actual ride time of 1:50.”
