The first club ride of 2011 is a perfect opportunity to blow the damp out of the fuel lines, stretch that tire rubber, and rouse a few squirrels from their hibernation slumber. We will be meandering down the backside of Spanaway and looping out to the sticks where the surreal absence of stop lights is almost un-American. A watering hole in McKenna will receive us and there will be plenty of opportunity to sneak into Stewarts Meats next door and re-stock your pantries with an abundance of sausages.

Lunch will follow at the “General Store and Dance Hall” in Roy. There are rumors of Gunslingers in the area and a very salacious western style Can-Can. However, as this will be a Sunday, we should be able to ride off into the Sunset relatively unscathed for our last port of call at one (the?) of the oldest continuously run Taverns in the area, the “Spanaway Exchange” before departing for all points of the compass.

This is relatively short ride and the long range weather forecast looks promising. However, wrap up warm as the chill has an uncanny knack of seeping into your bones after cruising at 55 for any duration especially at this time of year.
