Due to that white fluffy stuff and slick roads, this ride has been rescheduled for a future date..!!
When: Sunday, January 15, 2012, 9:30 AM (Breakfast), 10:30 AM Poot..!
Meet At: Ben Dews Club House and Grill, 6501 6th Ave, Tacoma, WA, 98406
Poot in the New Year with the first ride of 2012 and the debut lead by Tom B. This will be a ride of approximately 55 miles with three interim refreshment breaks and a repose for lunch concluding in the late afternoon at Alfred’s Café.
This ride is open to all interested scooter owners. Although there are restrictive 25 mph zones en route, there are segments that allow for 50 mph+. This may not be a 50 cc friendly ride.
As of this post the Weather forecast looks favorable. Check this space the morning of the ride for any last minute updates.

Leave your hangover in the vegetable bin at home and come to the first monthly meeting of 2012. New potential members are cordially invited and we will be collecting the yearly dues from our existing scooter fellows. There will be a scrumptious buffet of topics to digest and plans to be made for the upcoming scooter season including but not limited to the January ride, inter scooter club bowling match and the 2012 T-Town Flotilla.

This is the official Firkin Scooter Club Song written and performed by our very own member and musician extraordinaire, Tom B. The song received its debut at the Firkin Christmas party, in front of the fireplace performed by Tom strumming the accompaniment on his trusty ukulele.
The piece included here was also created by Tom. In his own words:
“Amazing what can be done with a seven year old iMac, free software, and the little pin-hole, built-in mic. I multi-tracked four tracks: ukulele, bass, vocal, and finger snap. Hope you like it. I’ve had fun with this project

Brace yourself for a rare nighttime Yuletide ride led by none other than the clubs own President, Papa Chester. Infuse yourself with a spicy mulled wine, adorn your warmest riding gear and get ready to absorb the seasons Christmas Spirit. We will undoubtedly be stopping in at a festive grotto or two along the way for well deserved glasses of Christmas Cheer. Ho, Ho, Ho..!!
In lieu of the annual Christmas Party, there will not be a meeting in December at our regular location of Mona’s. Instead the annual club Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 beginning at 4:00 PM. Offical business will be conducted between 4:00 — 5:30 PM followed by a Gift Exchange (bring one gift of approximately $20.00 for Santa’s Sack), food, drinks and Christmas Spirit. Dancing like sugar plums completely optional. The party will be open to family and close friends in the scooter community so if you don’t know the location of the grotto, have one of the Firkins whisper it in your ear..!

Those chilly frosty mornings are rolling in where by the time you arrive at work, a little icicle has formed on the end of your nose. Come in from the cold this Sunday and share some warmth with other Firkin members as we discuss the plans for the Vashon Island Turkey Rumble and pick up your Firkin apparel. New members always welcome..!
Friday. August 19th. 2011. The first inaugural T-Town Flotilla begins. Its mid afternoon and the sun is dripping off its slightly toasted muffin into a pool of blue which expresses a complete disdain for clouds of any political bias. A gaggle of Firkins are already giddy with excitement while setting the stage for the imminent meet and greet, twilight ride, and evening show kick off. As the afternoon subsides into early evening, intrepid attendees begin to trickle in to pickup rally backs, imbibe an adult beverage or two at the New Frontier Lounge and acquaint themselves with old and new friends alike.

Although it may seem like a long way off, we will be discussing next years rally, ordering the Club T-Shirts and juggling a smorgasbord of other club related topics with maybe a little aquavit hangover on the side.
